Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from the Profile page — scroll to Close account at the bottom. It's permanent, so we ask you to confirm with your password and tick a box first.

What happens when you close

It depends on whether you've ever transacted with us:

  • If you never bid or were billed, your account is deleted outright — the record and its hold on your email address are gone, so you're free to register again with the same email whenever you like.
  • If you have past invoices, the law requires us to keep those financial records. So instead of deleting them, we remove your personal details — your name, email, phone and address — and any saved card, and we delete the card from PayPal. Your invoices and bid history stay only as anonymous records, with no name attached.

Either way, your personal information is removed and you're signed out everywhere.

Can I come back?

Closing is a one-way door — there's nothing to "undo" or recover, because the point is that your details are gone. But you're always welcome back: just register again. It would be a brand-new account, starting fresh.

When you can't close yet

You can't close your account while you still owe on an invoice or are the high bidder on a lot that's still open — those are live commitments. Settle what's outstanding, or wait for the sale to close, and the option opens up. If you're stuck, contact the office and we'll help sort it out.

Prefer a hand?

If you'd rather we handle it, just email or call the office and ask us to close your account. We'll do exactly the same thing — remove your details and keep only the records we're required to — and confirm when it's done.
