Shipping & collection

Pickup is the default. Bring straps, bring help, and bring somebody who can lift their end.

This is stand-in copy. It shipped with the software and nobody has replaced it yet. The structure is right and the tone is ours, but every number, address, hour and promise below was invented to fill the space. Do not let this page take a real bid. Rewrite it in Settings › Static pages, and delete this paragraph when you do.

Pickup is the default

Most of what we sell is heavy, awkward or both, and pickup is the safe assumption for a warehouse full of forklifts and lathes. Unless a lot says otherwise, you are collecting it in person or sending somebody who can.

The removal window

Removal for each sale runs on the dates printed on the auction page — usually the two or three days after it closes, [DAYS AND HOURS], by appointment. Book a slot from your account once you have paid. Paid invoices only; nothing leaves the building against an unpaid one.

Bring what you need

  • Your invoice, on paper or on a phone.
  • Help. Our staff can put a pallet on your trailer with a forklift; they cannot load your van, disassemble a rack or carry a safe up a ramp.
  • Straps, blankets, boxes and tools. We do not supply packing materials.
  • Anything needed to disconnect what you bought — machinery is sold in place and you are responsible for removing it safely.

Shipping, when we offer it

Small, light and non-hazardous lots can often be shipped. If a lot can be, the lot page says so and you can ask for a quote from your invoice once the sale has closed. Quotes are real carrier rates plus a packing charge; we do not make money on freight and we do not lose it either.

We will not ship: anything over [WEIGHT], anything that has held fuel or oil, compressed gas, batteries outside their equipment, firearms, or anything the carrier's own rules exclude. For pallet freight, you are welcome to send your own carrier — tell us who and when.

Items left behind

An item still here after the removal window is abandoned, and abandoned lots are resold or scrapped without a refund. This is not us being difficult: we usually have to hand the building back, and the next sale is already arriving.

If something has gone wrong and you cannot make the window, call us before it ends. A problem we know about on Thursday is a conversation. The same problem on Monday is a write-off.
